Prominent Yoruba diaspora socio-cultural organisation, Oodua Progressive Union, has faulted the prolonged detention of popular online presenter and activist, Adegbola Abdulazeez, also known as Talọlọrun, by the Kwara State Police Command.

A new chapter of organisational progress and development opened last Saturday in Egypt. That was the day the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland and Global Convener of the Oodua Progressive Union, Iba Gani Abiodun Ige Adams, launched the Egypt chapter of the pan-Yoruba diaspora socio-cultural organisation, OPU.
Adams made the charge at the weekend in Kabba, Kogi State at the 8th edition of Oodua Progressive Union, tagged: “Kabba 2022.”
The two-day programme organized by the diaspora organization is slated between Friday January 28 and Saturday January 29 at Jonny Hotel Hall, Okene Road, Obajana, Junction, Kabba, Kogi state.
The Yoruba Diaspora group gave the charge on Sunday during the maiden edition of the Asia Summit held via online Webinar, with over 900 participants present from all over the world.
The group, however, urged the Federal Government to address the various security challenges in the country, and leave the Yoruba nation agitators alone.
Adewoye died on Wednesday, Aug. 4, in Osi-Ekiti at 81.
As part of moves to resolve the crisis, a retired high court judge in the state, Justice Moshood Adeigbe, has been appointed as the chairman of the OPU National Reconciliation and Caretaker Committee, saddled with the task of settling the crisis and conduct fresh election within 12 months.
The call was made by members of the Europe chapter of the OPU, through its Coordinator, Chief Victor Mobolaji Adewale, who is also the Akingbayi Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, in a statement made available to journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Sunday.
