The Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, made this known when the Commissioner of Police led a team of officers to the Assembly during plenary in Lagos on Wednesday.
Obasa said this on Thursday at the opening of a three-day budget retreat with the theme: ‘Addressing the service delivery priorities of Lagosians in the post-COVID era: issues, opportunities and options’ held in the Lekki area of the state.
The visit, which was part of activities to mark the Speaker’s 49th birthday, had the aides distributing various gifts, including rice, cartons of noodles, clothes and other materials.
The bill, which also aims to eliminate substandard and hazardous products the state, scaled second reading with Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, committing it to the Committee on Commerce and Industry.
The former Lagos State Governor said this at the Lagos House on Sunday as he reunited with his political associates and proteges
This followed a request brought to the House by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu recently.
Obasa made the call at the 13th annual Hijrah Lecture 1443 A.H (2021) organised by the House with the topic: ‘The Role of the Youths in the Emerging Socio-Economic and Political Realities’.
This was as the Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, described her demise as the “fall of a shining star.”
Obasa in a statement by his media office described Senator Tinubu as a blessing to Lagos and Nigeria with the roles she had played to better the state and the federation.
Obasa said this during a public hearing on a bill for the Lagos State Value Added Tax (VAT) and for other connected purposes.
This was as the Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, said the bill was intended to create an atmosphere that would encourage peaceful co-existence among residents.

The bill was passed at a sitting presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Wasiu Eshilokun-Sanni, on behalf of the Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa.
