The Serbian trainer released his squad for the upcoming tournament on Tuesday during a press conference at the Ghana Football Association.
He replaces former coach Charles Kwabena Akonnor, who was sacked with his two assistants early this month.
The 50-year-old replaces Belgian Georges Leekens who quit after Algeria were eliminated from the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations at the group stage.
No details of Rajevac’s contract were revealed but he is likely to be in charge of Algeria’s qualifying campaign for the 2018 World Cup in Russia
