Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un signed a “comprehensive” document, following a historic summit in Singapore aimed at the denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula.
“I believe this summit is only the first step of a much longer and difficult process. The fact that it occurs is already positive.
The US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, made this disclosure on Monday.
Trump said while leaving Canada that he was going on a mission of peace for the world.
Sadly, based on tremendous anger and open hostility displayed in your most recent statement, I feel like it is inappropriate at this time to have this long planned summit.”
It was the clearest sign yet that the on-again off-again summit between Trump and Kim is likely to be held as initially agreed, in Singapore on June 12.
Trump told reporters at the White House: “We’re going to see what happens. It could even be the 12th”, referring to the original date set for the meeting in Singapore.

Referring to a scheduled June 12 meeting with Kim in Singapore, Trump said in a letter to the North Korean leader:
Trump, who held a bilateral meeting with his South Korean counterpart, Moon Jae-in, at the White House, said he would be okay with whatever happens about the summit
On Tuesday, South Korean media reported that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un threatened to cancel the summit because of U.S.-South Korean military exercises currently taking place.
North Korea threw the June 12 summit between Kim and Trump into doubt on Wednesday, threatening weeks of diplomatic progress by saying it may reconsider if Washington insists it unilaterally gives up its nuclear weapons.
Trump, who made the announcement on his Twitter handle, said he and Kim would “try to make it a very special moment for world peace”

The two are expected to talk denuclearization and exchanges between the Koreas and also will plant a memorial tree at the border truce village of Panmunjom as part of the first inter-Korean summit in more than a decade
Trump, speaking during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the White House, said: “We’re going to be having a meeting with Kim – that will be very soon”.
Trump tweeted shortly after the announcement from Pyongyang that Kim has declared that he would suspend nuclear and missile tests starting from Saturday and that he would shut down the site where the previous six nuclear tests were conducted.
Trump said on Thursday he was prepared to meet Kim in what would be the first face-to-face encounter between any leaders of the two countries.
