At the hearing, Emmanuel Peters, a film editor and cinematographer, led in evidence by Ade Ipaye, the Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, told the court how he made the video recording and its certification
The case, which was for the continuation of cross-examination, was stalled due to the absence of the first defendant’s counsel, Victor Okpara, and the fourth defendant, Nonso Ezike
The prosecution witness, Joseph Edo, told the court how Olisaeloka Ezike (second defendant) went to Agboju Market at the instance of Okumo Nwabufo (first defendant) and purchased a chain and a cellotape, which they used in ‘killing’ Cynthia
The defendants allegedly chained and strangled 25-year-old Osokogu, a student, who met some of the accused via a social media
Edo, who was led-in-evidence by the Attorney-General of Lagos State,
Ade Ipaye, said that Osokogu was murdered in Room 1C of Cosmilla
Hotel
Following the development, the judge adjourned the matter to June 21 for continuation of trial
The men, Okwumo Nwabufo (33), Olisaeloka Ezike (23), Orji Osita (33) and Ezike Nonso (25), are facing a six-count charge of conspiracy, murder, stealing, reckless negligence and possession of stolen goods
