Liam Rosenior has confirmed his interest to become the new head coach of Chelsea following the exit of Enzo Maresca.
The 41-year-old, currently in charge of Strasbourg, announced the decision during a press conference on Tuesday, saying an agreement had been reached with Chelsea.
“I was given permission to speak to one of the biggest clubs in the world,” Rosenior said.
““It was an honour to be associated with a club like that and, now, it looks like I will be the next manager of that football club.”
He added: “I haven’t signed yet, but I have agreed to it verbally with Chelsea. It is all agreed and will probably go through in the next few hours.
“I am here because it felt right to answer your questions physically here today.”
Rosenior is expected to take charge in time for Chelsea’s FA Cup third-round tie at Charlton Athletic on Saturday.
In the interim, Callum McFralane will oversee Wednesday’s Premier League match at Fulham after leading the side to a 1-1 draw at Manchester City on Sunday.

The former defender enjoyed a 16-year playing career with clubs including Bristol City, Fulham, Reading, Hull City and Brighton before retiring in 2018.
He later moved into management, narrowly missing out on a Championship play-off place with Hull City in 2024 before taking the Strasbourg job.
The French club, owned by Chelsea’s parent company BlueCo, finished seventh in Ligue 1 last season.
