The National Chairman of the Progressive Peoples Alliance, Chief Sam Nkire, has congratulated former President Olusegun Obasanjo as he turned 76.
According to Nkire, Obasanjo deserves all the prayers he could get from Nigerians, having served the country to best of his ability.
The PPA national chairman, who was once an ally and Administrative Manager for the Obasanjo Presidential Campaign in 2003, said Obasanjo was a president difficult to replace.
He said any Nigerian president who wanted to make a success out of his presidency must seek Obasanjo’s advice from time to time.
Nkire rated Obasanjo’s presidency as “more than average”, adding that Obasanjo’s first and second coming as Head of State and president all “left Nigeria better than he met her.”
The PPA boss urged the former president not abandon Nigeria in anger but to continue to offer objective suggestions to his various successors to help them implement programmes for the well-being of Nigerians.
Nkire prayed God to grant Obasanjo more years on earth to enable him accomplish only the good things he was brought to do in Nigeria.
