Former Rangers’ player, Fred Okwara, was alleged to have attacked the Flying Antelopes General Manager, Paul Chibuzor, and other management staff of the club in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Rangers’ Director of Media and Publicity, Foster Chime, hinted that Okwara, who claimed to have been owed some amount of money by the Enugu-based club a few years ago, hired some hoodlums to attack the club’s officials.
“Immediately after the match, Fred Okwara accosted the General Manager, with the hoodlums, forcefully taking him hostage and collecting his phone and the sum of N300,000 before the intervention of policemen that guided him and other management staff to Elekahia Police Station, Port Hracourt where a formal report was made,” Chime informed.
Meanwhile, Rangers lost away to Dolphins by 0-2 as Austin Ekpoma and Ifeanyi Egwim grabbed a goal each.
In other centres, Kaduna United beat Nembe City by two goal to nil, Wikki Tourist’s Alaba Johnson grabbed a brace as they cruised past Sunshine Stars.
Lobi Stars were one goal better of Heartland FC at the Kastina Ala Stadium, Makurdi, just as relegation battling Akwa United also piped 3SC by one nil.
