A Twitter user has given his account of what happened to a senior Nigerian Diplomat, Abdulrahman Ibrahim, who was tortured, handcuffed and manhandled in Jakarta, Indonesia by four officers of the Asian country Immigration.
Recall that The Eagle Online earlier reported that the Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria has apologised in a statement by Nigeria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Meanwhile, the Twitter user, Justiani Wahjudi, stated that the incident was triggered by Ibrahim’s refusal to identify himself when accosted by the Immigration Officers.
He noted that Ibrahim also injured one of the officers during a scuffle, adding that his screams while being held down by the Immigration Officers were dramatic.
Wahjudi: “A diplomat from Nigerian over stayed and was being asked by Indonesian officers from immigration to show his document.
“But the diplomat refused, and became angry, yelling and hitting the officer’s head and punched the officer’s lip until he started bleeding and had a swollen lip.
“(There was a prove of scan of his bleeding and swollen lip).
“As a defence, the Indonesian officer had to protect himself and restrain the diplomat from hurting others.
“But the media showed this video to make the diplomat look like the victim.
“His screaming really sounded like a drama.
“Don’t believe in his scream.
“He said he couldn’t breathe but he could scream.
“What a liar.
“Is this how a diplomat behaves? What a shame.”
