The Niger State Government has felicitated with retired Colonel Sani Bello, the father of the State Governor, Abubakar Sani Bello, as he turns 74.
The Niger State government said the former Military Governor of Kano State has served Nigeria meritoriously.
In a congratulatory message signed by the State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Jonathan Vatsa, and made available to journalists in Minna, Colonel Bello was described as a “father, friend a role model and an elder statesman who has left good legacies behind even for his children”.
Vatsa stated in the statement that the contribution of Colonel Bello, who was born November 27, 1942, to the development of the country and the state still speaks for him.
According to him: “At 74, you are a compatriot of immeasurable value, a man whose words are his honour. Nigerians and the people of Niger and Kano states in particular are beneficiaries of the foundation you laid.
“A committed and loyal officer, your towering credentials in the military saw you to the height of your career.”
