In its determination to emerge victorious in the forthcoming Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship primary slated for September 6, 2014 in Adamawa State, the Campaign Organisation of Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Modibbo said it has stepped up campaign strategies and approaches.
Speaking in Yola on Sunday, the Director General of the group, Hon. Fanuel Mosu, explained that as political events were unfolding rapidly in Adamawa State, the group could not relax and watch.
Instead, Mosu said the group now depends largely on massive grassroots mobilisation and constant consultations across board.
He said the group, despite its past achievements, was now looking at new strategies that would put Modibbo ahead of other aspirants in the election.
Modu said the leadership of the group keeps a close touch with the 21 coordinators appointed across all the local councils in Adamawa State, as well as their counterpart delegate coordinators in the zones to oversee its activities.
So far, he revealed how the positive perception of Modibbo’s integrity and his previous party supports in Adamawa State have made him an easy sale for prospective voters in the governorship.
According to him: “Further decisions were taken at a meeting held in the newly commissioned Campaign Office of the group located along Galadima Aminu Way, inside Yola metropolis.
“We reviewed our campaign structures from ward, council and zonal levels and necessary improvements have been observed, yet we are not willing to rest on our oars.
“Part of our advantages is that Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Modibbo is already an household name here in Adamawa.
“His record of achievements and party support is helping us, but we still need to do more.
“All the 21 local council coordinators and our delegate coordinators have been briefed about some of our new strategies and they have expressed their willingness to take the message to the grassroots.
“Modibbo’s group believes more in the people and in putting them first.
“That’s why we are refocusing on how to get biggest supports from them during and after the primaries.”
Mosu further expressed optimism that Modibbo would spring surprises both at delegate and primary elections, going by the amount of supports he had already gathered across Adamawa State.
