All is set for the 2nd edition of Timeline Awareness Initiative Lecture.
The organizers have also decided to use the opportunity of the lecture to honour some distinguished and prominent Nigerians who have in the past and of recent contributed hugely to the development of country as well as outstanding in their chosen career.
The 2nd Timeline Awareness Initiative/Award Presentation, which holds on April 19, 2018 at the Lagos Sheraton Hotels, Ikeja, was strategically put together to have an impact on the role journalists and other individuals should play ahead, during and after the next general election with the cautious use of the social media, which plays a big role in dissemination of accurate and correct information to the public.
This urge to further sensitise the public at this critical period in the country’s history, made the organizers, TimelineNG, a soar-away online news portal, and Timeline Awareness Initiative, the educative platform co-owned by the medium, to strictly pick a seasoned journalist and politician, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Political Matters, to speak on the topic: “News Reporting In The Age Of New Media, A Focus On 2019 General Elections.”
The event, which will be chaired by former Senate Minority Leader, Senator Olorunnimbe Mamora, promises to attract many prominent Nigerians, including the Special Guest and Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, who is poised to receive Award of Excellence for his leadership role as the helmsman of the State Assembly; and Chairman, Heirs Holding/UBA Board of Directors, Tony Elumelu, to be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award along with Chairman.
