President Goodluck Jonathan has praised the untiring efforts of the Sultan of Sokoto, Dr. Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, to promote and advance the cause of peace, unity and positive development in all parts of the country.
In a congratulatory letter to the Sultan on the occasion of his 57th birthday on Saturday, President Jonathan prayed that God Almighty will grant the monarch, who is also the President-General of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, many more years of worthy service to the nation.
Jonathan wrote: “I write on behalf of my family, the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to felicitate with you on the occasion of your 57th birthday.
“As you continue to use your exalted throne to promote the cause of peace, unity and positive development in the Caliphate and across our nation, I commit you into the hands of Almighty Allah and pray that He continues to prosper you and bless you with robust health and many more years of enduring fulfillment.”
He wished the Sultan a very happy birthday.
