The Consul-General of Nigeria in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Ambassador Bello Kazaure Husseini, has expressed his admiration for the exceptional performance of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

This is contained in a statement signed by the Principal Information Officer, Makkah Operations Office, Muhammad Ahmad Musa.

Ambassador Husseini, according to the statement, made the commendation during a courtesy visit on Thursday by the officials of the Commission led by Alhaji Alidu Shutti, the Deputy Makkah Coordinator.

The Consul-General praised NAHCON’s efforts in guaranteeing the welfare of Nigerian pilgrims and fostering a strong relationship with Saudi Arabian authorities.

He lauded NAHCON’s dedication and commitment to organising a smooth and successful Hajj pilgrimage for Nigerian citizens.

The Ambassador acknowledged the significant enhancements in the commission’s operations, highlighting their meticulous planning, efficient logistics, and seamless coordination.

He further praised the cooperation and collaboration between NAHCON and the Saudi Arabian authorities, which he described as instrumental in the successful execution of the annual pilgrimage.

Kazaure expressed his

appreciation for the support and facilitation provided by the Saudi authorities, emphasising the seamless coordination that has resulted in a positive and harmonious experience for Nigerian pilgrims.

He expressed confidence in NAHCON’s ability to maintain its outstanding performance and improve upon it in future Hajj seasons.

The Ambassador reiterated Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with Saudi Arabia, particularly in the context of Hajj operations, and expressed gratitude to the Saudi Arabian authorities for their continuous support.

Earlier, NAHCON Makkah Deputy Coordinator, Alhaji Alidu Shutti on behalf of the Chairman/CEO briefed the Consul-General about the comprehensive services provided by NAHCON, noting the commission’s efforts in offering medical care, accommodation, transportation, and other essential amenities to ensure the well-being and comfort of the Nigerian pilgrims throughout their stay in Saudi Arabia.

Shutti highlighted that these provisions significantly contributed to the pilgrims’ spiritual journey and enabled them to focus on their religious obligations.

He appreciated the Consul-General and his team for their selfless services to the guests of Allah.

Shutti, thereafter, solicited for continuous harmonious working relationship between the Nigerian Consulate in Jeddah and the Commission in the onerous task of serving Nigerian pilgrims.

“The commendations by the Nigerian Consul-General in Saudi Arabia serve as a testament to the dedication and hard work of NAHCON in ensuring a successful Hajj pilgrimage for Nigerian pilgrims, as well as the positive diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia,” the statement concluded.
