The Jigawa State Government has approved N2.6 billion for the conduct of the 2026 Hajj exercise.
The State Commissioner for Information, Sagir Musa, disclosed this while briefing journalists on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting held on Wednesday in Dutse.
Musa said the approval would support smooth transportation and welfare arrangements for intending pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia for the pilgrimage.
According to him, the funds will cover key aspects of the Hajj operation, including air transportation, accommodation, feeding, medical services, orientation programmes and other logistics.
“This is to ensure a hitch-free pilgrimage for all pilgrims from the state as they embark on the holy journey,” he said.

Musa said that the government remains committed to conducting a smooth Hajj exercise in line with guidelines issued by Saudi authorities, stressing that transparency and accountability would guide the implementation.
He added that relevant agencies have been directed to work closely to ensure pilgrims are able to fulfil their religious obligations without hardship.
