The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices says it is partnering Dikeohamatics Educational Services to introduce POCACOV/Dikeohamatics Games for youths.
The National Coordinator of POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu, said this on Wednesday when Prof. Dikeoha Okwu, the Founder of the educational services, visited the POCACOV Resource Centre in Enugu.
Amaraizu expressed joy over the initiative, saying the games were designed toward achieving value re-orientation and strategic leadership among the nation’s youths.
He said that Okwu’s visit was for the two groups to deliberate and strengthen the modalities for the successful implementation of the games.
He said: “I must thank Okwu for the invention of the games, which will be of immense importance towards the mitigation of cultism and other vices among youths.
“The games will surely keep youths deeply engaged, while sharpening their mathematical skills.”
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Dikeohamatics Games are sets of mathematical games built around mathematical formulas that allow players to be focussed, fast thinking and easily imbibe mathematical traits.
In a speech, Okwu said the games could be played outdoors or indoors.
“They are a panacea to cultism and social vices in Nigeria because players will be constantly occupied on arriving at positive innovations and manipulative skills,” he said.
According to him, the games help to erase mathematical phobia among children and youths as well as help them to pass mathematics.
He identified the games as: The Numeration Games, The Geometric Shapes Games, The Linear Equations Games, The HCF Games and The LCM Games.
Okwu added: “As their names imply, they make children and youths and parents to be conversant with figures for effective societal survival and participatory approach to issues.
“Like the Numeration Games, it prepares players for easy understanding of other mathematical facts and logic.
“The games are POCACOV-friendly and capable of helping in creating a cult-free society.
“Parents will also benefit from the sustainable solutions against mathematical phobia by young minds.”
