Four persons have been confirmed dead as a speeding Toyota Sienna reportedly left its lane and collided head-on with a tricycle at Famgbe 2 on the Yenagoa-Oporoma road in Bayelsa State.
According to an eyewitness, the Toyota Sienna was driving in the direction of Oporoma while the tricycle was returning to Yenagoa after 7:00 pm on Monday when the crash occurred.
It was learnt that the victims confirmed dead included the driver of the tricycle and the passengers while none of the occupants of the Sienna sustained any injuries.
The eyewitness noted that heavy rainfall and poor visibility could have also contributed to the accident on a bend on the road, a scene of several previous accidents.
According to him, it took some time before residents responded to the emergency due to the rain and growing darkness.

According to reports, Bayelsa State has placed a ban on the operations of tricycles beyond 7.00 pm, but it is usual for some tricyclists to operate beyond the ban, especially outside the state capital, Yenagoa.
When contacted for confirmation, the spokesperson for the Bayelsa State Police Command, Musa Mohammed, said he was not aware of the incident
