Soldiers, policemen and other sister law enforcement operatives have taken over major streets in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, as President Goodluck Jonathan arrives the state as part of his campaign for the February 14 presidential election.
Also, vehicles are being diverted on some roads to ease traffic in the metropolis.
Places affected are Little by Little Junction, Ijigbo Roundabout, Atikankan Area, Oke Ese/Okesa/Ereguru Roundabout, Okeyinmi/First Bank Roundabout, Post Office Roundabout and Dallimore Junction.
The state Commissioner of Police, Taiwo Lakanu, had earlier appealed to road users to make use of alternative routes.
The government also declared a half day holiday for both public schools and civil servants in the state to enable them receive the President and his campaign team.
Governor Ayo Fayose at a meeting with leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party across the state stressed the need to mobilise supporters of the party to receive Jonathan at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado Ekiti.
