The Governing Council of the National Health Insurance Scheme has suspended indefinitely its Executive Secretary, Usman Yusuf.
The suspension of the Executive Secretary was announced on Thursday by the Chairperson of the Governing Council, Ifenne Enyanatu.
Enyanatu told newsmen after a two-day closed door meeting of the Council at its Head Office in Abuja that there were several petitions against Yusuf.
Owing to this, she said an administrative panel has been set up to examine the allegations against him, adding that the Minister of Health, Prof. Isaac Adewole, gave his approval for the measures taken.
She said: “The panel has three months to complete its assignment and report back to us.

“We consulted and got the approval of the Honorable Minister of Health before this suspension.”
