Super comic, Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe, is not dead.
There had been reports all over the social media that Omidina, who had been ill for a while, had passed on.
However, highly placed sources in the Ministry of Health told The Eagle Online that the Minister, Prof. Isaac Adewole, on Tuesday spoke with Omidina, who is in the United States of America.
The Federal Government had through the Ministry of Health undertaken to foot the bills of the popular comic, who was first admitted at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital.
Omidina was later moved to the US for further treatment on April 20.
Also speaking on the news, the President of the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Association of Nigeria, Bolaji Amusan, also known as Mr. Latin, said Omidina is alive.
In a video posted on his Instagram page, Amusan wrote: “Baba Suwe is not DEAD.
“Thank you all for your concern.”
