A former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has reacted to a report that he gifted a brand new Toyota SUV to Lieutenant Ahmad Yerima, the Naval Officer, who stood his ground against the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, over a disputed parcel of land in Abuja.
The former vice president spoke on Thursday in a statement released to the public via his X handle by his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe.
The statement by Ibe, who heads the Atiku Media Office in Abuja, said: “His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, Vice President of Nigeria (1999–2007), did not gift Lt. Ahmed Yerima — or any other individual — a brand new Toyota SUV, contrary to the false reports currently circulating on social media.
