Spurs manager hails Dele Alli

Dele Alli is most effective in a box-to-box midfield role for Tottenham Hotspur, according to Kenny Cunningham.
The Spurs midfielder has been one of the stars of the Premier League so far this season after Alli moved to the north London club in a £5 million deal from League One side, MK Dons.
The 19-year-old midfielder has scored four goals and has made two assists in 15 Premier League games for Mauricio Pochettino’s side in his first campaign in the English top flight.
And former Republic of Ireland defender Cunningham reckons Alli, who earned his first England call-up earlier this season before he scored his first goal against France for the Three Lions, isn’t as suited to a number 10 role, where he has been played in recent games.
“Alli is a natural centre-midfield player,” Cunningham said.
“When he first came into the team, he was doing everything: collecting the ball off the centre-halves, getting turned and playing it forward, dribbling and surging into the box.
“In the last few games, he was playing as an orthodox No10 but I don’t think it is his best position. Considering the level that he has come from, the impact that he has made has been outstanding.”
