Niyi Owolade, a former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Osun, says rights activists will uphold legacies left behind by the late Afenifere spokesman, Yinka Odumakin.
Owolade gave assurance at a funeral service for Odumakin at the Origbo Anglican Grammar School, Moro, Osun, on Saturday.
He said there was no doubt that Odumakin was specially created by God.
“He died young but lived a worthy life,” the former attorney-general said.
He said that Odumakin was committed, hard working and full of wisdom.
“He utilised the same for the good of Yorubaland and Nigeria as whole.
“Odumakin clamoured for restructuring throughout his life time but unfortunately he left so soon.
“We will remember him for the good work he did and pray for the prosperity of the country,” he said.
Owolade said that human rights activists left behind by Odumakin would continue with the struggle for a better Nigeria.
He prayed God to give the family and friends of the late activist the fortitude to bear the loss.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that 56-year-old Odumakin, who hailed from Moro, Osun, died on April 2, in Lagos State.
He would be laid to rest after the funeral service.
