Facts have emerged that many Nigerians are now sleeping at the Consulate Office of Nigeria in South Africa in order to catch up with the next flight billed to return them to Nigeria.
The Eagle Online gathered many people decided to sleep at the Consulate for fear they could miss the next flight to return to Nigeria.
Over 640 Nigerians had registered for the voluntary return trip to Nigeria, with 187 making it with the first flight operated free by Air Peace.
Information available to our correspondent showed that some Nigerians were turned back by the South African authorities due to invalid documents and are now at the Nigerian Consulate in South Africa to know the next line of action.
Those mostly affected by invalid documents are mothers and children.
They were seen hanging around the Consulate.
It could be recalled that 187 Nigerians arrived country from South Africa on Wednesday.
They were evacuated from South Africa as a result of the ongoing xenophobic attacks in the country.
And barring any last minute change of mind, the flight expected to take more Nigerians back home from South Africa has been scheduled for Friday.
Some people had visited the Consulate office early on Thursday with hope that there will be a flight.
But no one at the consulate was aware of any such flight.
