Ahead of the Africa Championship, Odunayo Adekuoroye and 25 other wrestlers have arrived Yenagoa, Bayelsa State in the build up to the 2016 Rio Olympics.
The wrestlers consist of 10 female wrestlers, six Greco Roman, nine Freestyle wrestlers and six coaches
The Africa Championships is from March 2 to 7 in Alexandria, Egypt, while the Africa and Oceania qualifier is scheduled from March 30 to April 4 in Algeria.
Igali said the Greco Roman Wrestlers would in the next few days be moved to Calabar, Cross River State due to the proximity of the coach.
According to the President of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation, Daniel Igali, wrestlers will prepare at the Den Gymnasium, Yenagoa, before the national camp opens.
Igali said most of the wrestlers participated at the All African Games.
He said last year before they missed the trip for the 2015 Copa Brazil Wrestling Championship, the wrestlers were in Bayelsa State before moving to Abuja.
He expressed confidence that the National Sports Commission will approve the commencement of national camps soon.
Wrestlers in Camp are:
Female: Adekuoroye Odunayo, Adeniyi Aminat, Oborududu Blessing, Rueben Hannah, Iheanacho Ifeoma, Onyebuchi Blessing, Nweke Rosemary, Genesis Mercy, Nwoye Ifeoma and Makanjuola Bisola.
Male Freestyle: Welson Ebikewenimo, Daniel Amas, Bibo Melvin, Dick Adibo, Tamarau Soso, Clackson Sampson Ekerekeme Agiomor, Ebi Akene and Enozunimi Simeon.
Greco Roman: Nworie Emmanuel, Ituru Oke, Okeke Tochukwu, Onyemelusi Abraham, Agbonavbare Joe and John Ogbonna.
The coaches are Victor Kodei, Purity Akuh, Tiebiri Godswill, Oziti Joe, Happiness Burutu and Damian Ohaike.
Odunayo Adekuoroye is the only wrestler that has so far qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
