The Spanish FA has confirmed that Spain Coach Julen Lopetegui will confirm his 23-man squad for the 2018 World Cup on May 18.
The squad unveiling will be made in the Distrito Telefónica building in the barrio of Las Tablas in Madrid ahead of this summer’s tournament in Russia.
A number of players will be hoping for a spot in the plane with much of the focus centred on the strikers – with one of Diego Costa, Rodrigo Moreno, Iago Aspas and Alvaro Morata set to miss out.
Spain’s first game will be against Portugal in Sochi on June 15, before facing Iran five days later in Kazan and rounding off their group stage campaign against Morocco in Kalingrad on June 25.
