Onyinye Vivian Obi, who petitioned the office of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, concerning a major threat to her life by her husband, Petrus Obi, and his alleged mistress, Chibota Edozie, has withdrawn her petition.
In the letter of withdrawal, Obi stated that she was misinformed about the allegations and was coerced by Chris Isiguzo, President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, and his group, who prepared the first petition, which was dated December 16, 2020, and made her to sign it.
According to Obi, she regrets whatever embarrassment the false allegations might have caused her husband and Edozie.
Her letter of withdrawal read: “This is the follow up to my petition dated December 16, 2020 in which I accused Mrs. Chibata Edoze of threat to my life and having a relationship with my husband, Mr Petrus Obi.
“I was misinformed about the allegations and coerced by Mr. Chris Isiguzo, President of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and his group, who prepared the said petition, made me to sign same and submitted the petition on my behalf and I hereby by this letter withdraw the allegations.
“I regret whatever embarrassment these false allegations might have caused my husband Mr. Petrus Ohi, and Mrs. Chibota Edozie.”
Recall that Edozie had in a letter to The Eagle Online stated that the allegations made by Mrs. Obi were absolute falsehood.
