Governor Hyacinth Alia has sent his condolences to his colleague and Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Bassey Umo Eno, over the death of his wife, Pastor Patience Umo Eno.
The governor’s condolence message followed the death of Pastor Eno during an illness on Thursday, September 26, 2024.

Alia described the death of the First Lady as shocking, calling on Governor Eno to take solace in the fact that his late wife lived a fulfilled life, full of compassion for the well-being of everyone around her.
The Governor cited the Golden Initiative For All, a foundation put together by the late Patience Eno, to provide shelter, food, financial and educational support to the poor and vulnerable in Akwa Ibom State as one of her many legacies aimed at touching the lives of the people, which she will forever be remembered for.
He prayed to God to console the Governor, his children and the entire people of Akwa Ibom State over the painful loss, equally asking God to grant the soul of the late First Lady eternal rest.
