Nigeria Premier league ‘giant killers’, Abubakar Bukola Saraki FC of Ilorin, have described the 4-1 bashing of Sunshine Stars in the replayed Week 3 fixture as a grudge match hence they disgraced the Akure side.
Addressing sports Writers shortly after the match played at the Kwara State Stadium, Ilorin, the Team Manager of the club, Alloy Chukwuemeka, said ABS decided to replay the game in the interest of Nigeria football, stressing that the O/D and Appeal Committee’s decision to replay the match was the height of injustice against the youthful Ilorin side.
Chukwuemeka concluded that the entire team saw the match as a grudge match and decided to punish and disgrace Sunshine by a whooping four goals to one.
The former Yobe media chief however added that the club owner, Dr. Bukola Saraki, was happy with the victory and rewarded the team with additional bonus.
