Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state on Saturday disclosed that he dissolved his cabinet in order to bring in new hands who are more politically inclined.
The governor revealed this in Zaki Local Government Area of the state while launching his empowerment programme to mark the Democracy Day.
Mohammed explained that he dissolved his cabinet not because it was not performing.
He said it was because he found it necessary to give others the opportunity to serve the people of the state, especially those who were deeply rooted in politics.
The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that the governor had on June 9, 2021, dissolved his cabinet including the offices of Secretary to the State Government, Chief of Staff, Government House, and Commissioners among others.
He, however, commended the dissolved cabinet for good working relationship during the time the members worked together adding that they performed excellently.
“I dissolved my cabinet because some of them do not know much about politics, so I had to bring in the real politicians who can do the job and join hands with me to move the state forward.
“Nevertheless, I must commend them, because they performed very well and I am grateful for the efforts they made towards the success of my administration.
“I just have to get others, that is, the real politicians that can do the job together with me and move the state forward.
“We are determined to fulfil the campaign promises we made to the people of the state,” the governor said.
Mohammed also appreciated the people of the state for the trust reposed in his administration, adding that his administration was determined to deliver the dividends of democracy to them.
He urged them to also continue to be steadfast in their commitment toward his administration and remain resolute against deceitful politicians in the state.
