The Executive Secretary, Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission , Rev. Tor Uja, says the commission will continue to support Christians to enable them perform the holy pilgrimages without hitches.
He said this when he hosted the General Overseer, Love of Christ Generation Church, United Kingdom, Rev. Esther Ajayi, who visited him on Wednesday in Abuja.
Uja, who was represented by Head of Operations in the commission, Rev. Amos Yohanna, also said that NCPC, was committed to continuously give administrative support to churches to facilitate pilgrimage for the faithful.
He commended Ajayi for her unflinching commitment to Christian pilgrimage, describing her as one of the pillars of Christian pilgrimage in Nigeria.
According to him, no Nigerian woman has been so committed to pilgrimage like her.
The NCPC boss disclosed that so far, Esther Ajayi Foundation had single-handedly sponsored no fewer than 145 pilgrims to the holy land.
He also commended her for recording zero absconding of all pilgrims sponsored by her foundation to pilgrimage in Israel, adding that the achievement was instructive.
Earlier, Ajayi had said that she was at NCPC with her team to appreciate the commission for the effective way Christian pilgrimages had been conducted.
Ajayi lauded the commission for providing her foundation enabling environment to perform pilgrimages efficiently.
According to her, the Esther Ajayi Foundation has been able to achieve so much as a result of the close relations with the commission through its operations.
She said that the foundation had never recorded any incident of absconding of pilgrims during pilgrimages, and attributed it to “extreme vetting’’ which allowed only honest and committed Christians to scale through her selection process.
Ajayi told the NCPC boss that her foundation would sponsor 100 intending pilgrims to Israel for the 2018 “Main Pilgrimage”.
She added that she would also sponsor 10 staff of the commission in appreciation for their good work and support to her Foundation over the years.
The News Agency of Nigeria recalls that Ajayi was recently honoured by the Eternal Sacred Order “Cherubim and Seraphim) and all White Garment churches in Abuja.
The honour was for her “outstanding dedication to God’s work, promoting care and humanity in communities across the nation”.
