A vulcaniser, Iyanda Ogunleye Yaya, who was paid N4,000 to aid the export of cannabis and ecstasy pill, also known as MDMA, has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.
This was revealed in a statement by the Director of Media and Advocacy of the NDLEA, Femi Babafemi, on Sunday.
According to Babafemi, the drugs were to be exported to Dubai, United Arab Emirate through the NAHCO Shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on December 23, 2022.
It was further revealed that the drugs were concealed in the container of a beverage drink, Bournvita.
Yaya was said to have been given the assignment of facilitating the export of the drugs.
In another development, operatives of the NDLEA also recovered 152 kilograms of skunk from two dealers in Kano, 100,000 pills of Tramadol in Imo State and 520kg of cannabis hidden in soft drinks crates loaded in a truck entering into Abuja, the nation’s Federal Capital Territory.
