The palliative provided for COVID-19 by the Federal Capital Territory Administration for the largest satellite town in Abuja, Kubwa, has been hijacked by some hoodlums.
It was gathered the palliative, mostly rice in small bags, was offloaded from two trailers on Sunday evening in PW and Byaji in Kubwa, expected to be shared on Monday for the vulnerable in the area, which will be coordinated by Councillors in the Area.
But some hoodlums who got wind of the plan to share the rice on Monday stormed the warehouse with dangerous weapons to where rice was kept before it will be shared and started looting it.
Some of the hoodlums in the video obtained by our correspondent got about five bags of rice from there, while the vulnerable in the area were not taken care off.
An artisan in the area, who pleaded anonymity, blamed the Councillors in the affected areas on the invasion of hoodlums.
He said: “The councillors were planning to covert the palliative to party affairs and when the hoodlums got wind of the development, they invaded the place and took away the rice.”
