The video has emerged of how Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, with Portable as stage name, was escorted by officials of the Nigeria Correctional Service into a waiting prison van on the conclusion of his arraignment on Monday.
The Nigeria Police had dragged Portable to court for resisting arrest, injuring a policemen and wilful damage of property.
The singer, who was arraigned before an Ogun State Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ifo in Ifo Local Government Area, was granted a N300,000 bail by Magistrate A. S. Shoneye.
He was remanded in Ilaro Correctional Centre until he meets the bail conditions, which included presenting two sureties.
BBC Pidgin Service captured the moment Portable was escorted to the waiting van of the NCoS by officials.
However, he was able to meet the bail conditions later in the day.
This was confirmed to The PUNCH by the spokesman for the NCoS in the state, Victor Oyeleke, on Monday.
“He has perfected the bail conditions and he just left the custody,” Oyeleke told The PUNCH.
