A former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, has allegedly coaxed some members of the Peoples Democratic Party State Executive Committee to swear oath of allegiance to his leadership in the state.
Fayose and Senator Biodun Olujinmi had been in a battle over who controls the PDP structure in Ekiti State.
A few days ago, the Federal High court sitting in Ado Ekiti dismissed a suit challenging the conduct of the PDP Ward Congress in Ekiti State by the National Working Committee.
In what seems like a temporary relief to the Ward Chairmen that emerged from Fayose’s faction, the court upheld the preliminary objection raised concerning the “justiciability” of the case.
But in a video obtained by The Eagle Online, some of PDP SEC members loyal to Fayose in Ekiti State were seen in a sitting room swearing oaths of allegiance to Fayose in Yoruba language.
The literary interpretation of their oath was that after mentioning their names individually, then they declared: “If I betray Osoko Ayo Fayose, may the ground swallow me.”
Thise who mentioned their names in the video included Mike Adeosun, Segun Ademile, Michael Ayo, Olayiwola Oderinde, Princess Oriade Adefunke, Ayo Komolafe, Michael Ojo, Yemisi Fajuyi, Tunji Kayode, Wale Owoeye (Youth Leader), Kehinde Agbede and Olu Asiwaju.
