The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, has said a policeman has been killed and two others injured in an incident in the Ijegun area of the state.
This followed the gunning down of a shop owner, simply identified as Biliki, in the area.
Biiliki was said to be pregnant.
A mob acting on the development held one of the policemen, initially said to be of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad.
But the spokesman of the Command said the policemen were attached to the Anti-Kidnap unit.
Elkana said: “They were Anti-Kidnap, not SARS operatives.
“We don’t have the details of what happened for now.
“But the mob has killed one policeman and injured two.
“The area is still tense.
“But we are handling it.”
