Valencia backs Ighalo to shine

Former Manchester United star, Antonio Valencia, has backed new signing Odion Ighalo to shine at the Old Trafford.
Valencia via his Twitter handle: @anto_v25, wrote: “I always saw the number 25 as an opportunity to work beyond my dreams.
“It has been my inspiration and became my amulet. I wish you all the success now with this shirt brother!”
Ighalo will wear the number 25 shirt during his time at the club.
The transfer is a stop gap to help Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side for the last few months of the season with Marcus Rashford out injured and it was confirmed he would wear Valencia’s old number for the remainder of the season.
Reports claim he picked the number because it is popular in Nigeria as Nwankwo Kanu wore it at Arsenal.
Ighalo is in Manchester while his teammates enjoy their holiday time during the winter break, but he should be with them when they head off for warm weather training next week.
And the 30-year-old will no doubt be looking forward to his first training session as he’s already described his move as a dream.
“It’s been crazy you know,” Ighalo told Sky Sports News in his first interview. “I’m happy to be in Manchester first and this is a great opportunity for me.
“I’m grateful to God and to my agent and to the coach who’s given me the opportunity to be here, to walk out with the team and finish very well this season.
“It’s a dream come true because since I was a kid, I’ve always dreamed about Man United. But this is reality now, so I can’t say much until I get started.”
