The United Progressive Party has slated the kick off of its presidential campaign forWednesday in Owerri, the Imo State capital.
The highlight of the presidential rally, according to a statement by Chief Flint Obiekwe, the Chairman of Chekwas Okorie Presidential Campaign Organization, will be the presentation of the party’s flag to Dr. Osmond Imo Ukanacho, the Imo State governorship candidate of the party.
The statement said party members and supporters are expected to converge at NUC FAM Entertainment Centre, Onitsha Road, Owerri by 10am for “a campaign that will produce the first executive president of Igbo extraction in Nigeria”.
The UPP presidential candidate, Chief Chekwas Okorie, the statement said, will point the way forward for a new Nigeria.
According to the statement: “Highlight of the presidential rally will be the presentation of the Party flag to Dr. Osmond Imo Ukanacho, the Imo State Governorship Candidate who is set to take over from the outgoing Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha.
“It is time for revolutionary leadership in our quest at building a strong, virile and prosperous democratic nation.”
