With two unreplied goals, Nigeria’s Falconets overran their Korea Republic counterpart in the opening game of their FIFA U-20 World Cup game in Saitama, Japan.
Playing in Group B, the Nigerians overwhelmed their counterparts in all departments of the game.
The first goal, in the first half, was scored by Ngozi Okobi.
The second was scored by Desire Oparanozie midway into the second half.
The Coach of the Falconets, Okon Edwin, said: “This was the planned result.
“We’ve even improved compared to last World Cup and we’ll try to do better than that, which means that we want to do better than second place.”
The Nigerians, the 2010 runners-up, look good for the knockout stage with their leadership of Group B with the emphatic win over Korea Republic.
