In another twist of events, Derek Dixon, an actor who worked on the Tyler Perry-created TV drama: “The Oval,” has sued Perry for alleged sexual harassment, assault, and retaliation in a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles, United States of America.
In a complaint filed on June 13, 2025, he alleged that Perry leveraged his industry power to repeatedly assault and harass him sexually while keeping him quiet.
According to the actor, Perry, a pastor, rubbed his thigh in bed, sent him sexually charged messages, and once grabbed his throat, asking if he “likes it rough in bed.”

He lamented that Perry allegedly created “a coercive, sexually exploitative dynamic” with him while they worked on “The Oval,” a BET drama series produced by Perry.
While seeking $260 million in damages and a jury trial, the actor sued Perry for quid pro quo, sexual harassment, workplace sexual harassment, and sexual assault and battery, among other claims.
Meanwhile, Perry’s attorney, Matthew Boyd, has refuted the allegations, dismissing them as false and a fabricated scam.
“This is an individual who got close to Tyler Perry for what now appears to be nothing more than setting up a scam. But Tyler will not be shaken down and we are confident these fabricated claims of harassment will fail,” he stated.
