Two men, Ebun Oyewole, 19, and Hassan Ibrahim, 20, were on Wednesday arraigned in a Badagry Magistrates’ Court in Lagos over alleged stealing and receiving of stolen property.
Oyewole and Ibrahim, whose addresses are unknown, are facing a three-count charge of robbery, unlawful possession and receiving stolen property.
The Prosecutor, ASP Ikem Uko, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on October 6 at about 11pm opposite Old Police Post, Seme border in Badagry area of Lagos.
Uko said the defendants stole one Elepac generator, a Tiger generator, pumping machine engine, grinding machine, two half engines and two coils, all belonging to Uchenna Nwaga.
“Oyewole unlawfully had all the stolen items in his possession, while Ibrahim dishonestly received the items from him after paying N11,000,” he said.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened sections 287, 329 and 328 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Chief Magistrate Patrick Adekomaiya admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N200,000 each, with two sureties in like sum.
The Magistrate adjourned the case until November 11 for further mention.
