US President Donald Trump attacked a pair of television hosts on Thursday in his latest Twitter barrage against perceived media enemies.
His targets this time are the hosts of “Morning Joe”, a political talk show on cable news channel MSNBC where Trump was a frequent guest during the 2015 to 2016 presidential campaign.
During the election, hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski received media criticism for holding frequent, chummy telephone interviews with Trump during the election period.
Trump has turned against them since the election.
“I heard poorly rated @Morning_Joe speaks badly of me (don’t watch anymore). Then how come low IQ Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year’s Eve,” Trump asked.
Trump, whose Twitter account has nearly 33 million followers, claimed that the couple “insisted on joining” him at his Florida resort, where the president has visited frequently since taking office.
Trump tweeted that he said “no!” to meeting with them and added that Brzezinski at the time was “bleeding badly from a face-lift”.
Since the election, Trump has engaged in continual attacks on major media he considers hostile, coining the invective “fake news” against MSNBC and especially CNN, as well as The New York Times, Washington Post and others.
