Following a tip off, troops of Sector 1, Sub Sector 4 of the Nigerian Army in conjunction with operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency at about 1.45am on Saturday raided the house of a notorious drug baron, Maxi Ota Benjamin, now at large.
Benjamin resides in Amirima Compound, Achara Ihechiowa community in Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State.
During the raid, four suspected accomplices of the wanted drug baron were apprehended in the compound.
Items recovered included one short single barrel gun, one long single barrel gun, one automatic pump action rifle, one locally made double barrel pistol, one binocular and two mobile phones of Intel and kismo brands.
Others are some substances suspected to be indian hemp.
The suspects and the substances have been handed over to the NDLEA for further action.
Similarly, the provision of free medical services to the people of Nnarambia community, Ahiara Mbaise in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, was successfully conducted on Saturday.
In his remarks at the event, the Eze of Ahiara, Dr. Pious Onyekwen Nfunala 1 of Ihiara Nnarambia community, thanked the Army for keeping the nation one indivisible entity and by extending the free medical services/supplies to his people.
