Negative sentiments resurfaced at the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Tuesday with market indicators dropping by 0.57 per cent due to profit-taking.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the All-Share Index lost 172.76 points or 0.57 per cent to close at 30,058.40.
This was against 30,231.16 achieved on Monday, due to price depreciation.
Also, the market capitalisation lost N59 billion or 0.57 per cent to close at N10.330 trillion compared with N10.389 trillion posted on Monday.
A breakdown of the price movement chart indicated that Dangote Cement led the losers’ chart with a loss of N3 to close at N164 per share.
Nigerian Breweries trailed with N1.50 to close at N136.50, while UACN declined N1.44 to close at N27.46 per share.
Guinness dipped N1.30 to close at N151.20, while Forte Oil depreciated by N1 to close at N263.99 per share.
Access Bank was the toast of investors with an exchange of 15.53 million shares worth N79.05 million.
Fidelity Bank came second with 14.19 million shares valued N20.84 million, while Zenith Bank traded 13.11 million shares worth N220.24 million.
UBA sold 12.98 million shares worth N56.79 million and FBN Holdings exchanged 7.525 million shares cost N46.151 million.
In all, investors staked N1.38 billion on 124.24 million shares transacted in 2,930 deals.
This was against 134.62 million shares worth N1.48 billion traded in 2,900 deals on Monday.
