The late Chief Security Officer to the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Alhaji Lateef Kareem, died on the way to the hospital, WESTERN POST has learnt.
He was brought in dead by his family and relations to Orile-Agege General Hospital, sources told the online newspaper on Friday evening.
His body was immediately transferred to the hospital morgue.
Kareem, said to be a most trusted aide of Asiwaju Tinubu, had been battling diabetes and high blood pressure for a long time.
An Assistant Superintendent of Police, sources said Kareem reported for work on Monday and excused himself when he found out he was not feeling good.
Those who saw him early in the week could not believe when he news filtered in that he had died.
Alhaji Kareem died around midnight on Thursday.
His remains were buried in his compound at Maplewood Estate, Oko-Oba, Agege.
There was much wailing and crying by his neighbours most of whom spoke highly and fondly of their most cherished estate member and police officer.
