Security has been beefed up around the Federal High Court in Abuja, venue of the trial of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
Daily Trust reports that security operatives have cordoned off the entrance to the Federal High Court in Abuja venue of the trial, just as vehicles loaded with operatives of the Nigeria Police and the Department of States Services (DSS) are preventing “unaccredited” journalists and members of the public from accessing the court.
Security agents are also redirecting traffic and people from the road leading to the court.
The newspaper also reports that police operatives chased some members of the IPOB who had stormed the Federal High Court venue ahead of the trial.
