The Nigerian Meteorological Agency has predicted morning thunderstorms over the Central States especially parts of Nassarawa, Abuja, Minna, Bida, Makurdi, Mambila plateau, Jalingo, Kaduna, Jos and Bauchi on Tuesday.
NiMet’s Weather Outlook by its Central Forecast Office on Monday in Abuja, also predicted localised thunderstorms over Maiduguri, Abuja, Minna, Jos and Nassarawa in the afternoon and evening hours.
The region will also have day and night temperature values in the range of 22 to 30 and 15 to 23 degrees Celsius respectively.
The agency predicted that the Southern States would experience cloudy morning with the exception of Calabar and Eket where rains were anticipated.
It also predicted afternoon localised rains over the region with day and night temperatures in the ranges of 25 to 31 and 19 to 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
According to NiMet, Northern States will experience cloudy morning over the North-eastern axis while Sokoto, Yelwa and Kano are expected to experience thunderstorm.
NiMet predicted: “Localised thunderstorms are anticipated over Maiduguri and parts of the North-western region in the afternoon and evening with day and night temperatures of 30 to 35 and 22 and 24 degrees Celsius respectively.
“Moisture availability is expected to further spur formation of weather activities across the whole country in the next 24 hours.”
