Three children of same parents die in Anambra fire incident

A fire outbreak on Saturday at about 2am has claimed the lives of three persons in Ugwu Chelekwu Village, Okija, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State.
This was contained in a statement on Saturday by the spokesman of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Haruna Mohammed.
The name of the father of the children was given as Chukwuma Aduhuba.
The names and ages of the children were Chimankpan Aduhuba (m), 5; Munachimso Aduhuba (m), 2; and Kamsiyochi Aduhuba (f), two months.
They were said to have sustained varying degrees of burns and died on the spot, while property worth millions of Naira destroyed.
Mohammed added in the statement: “Following the distress call, Police patrol team led by DPO Okija Division rushed to the scene, cordoned off the area and the fire was put off by local volunteers before the arrival of fire fighters.
“Meanwhile, the victims where photographed and corpses buried by parents according to their customs.
“Consequently, the Commissioner of Police, CP John B.Abang, has ordered for a discreet investigation to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident please.”
