The Supreme Court has sacked the Governor of Kebbi State, Alhaji Usman Saidu Nasamu Dakingari, from office, ordering a fresh election
Justice Walter Onnoghen, who led the other justices of the court in delivering the judgement, overruled the Court of Appeal that upheld Dakingari’s election.
Onnoghen said the Court of Appeal erred when it deferred the reason for its judgement to outside of the 60 days allowed by the constitution for delivery of judgement on election matters.
The Supreme Court then ordered for a fresh election in Kebbi State within 90 days. Details coming soon.
