Former Premier League star Carlos Tevez is set to retire from football at the end of 2019 when his Boca Juniors contract expires.
34-year-old striker Tevez will wave goodbye once again to his beloved Argentine club Boca come the end of next year.
Tevez, who has enjoyed three spells with Boca, rejoined the club in January after a disappointing time in China at Shanghai Shenhua, where he was the highest-paid player in world football on £650,000 a week.
His return to Argentina has been underwhelming, scoring just four goals and his footballing days are now closing in, with him announcing that he will hang up his boots soon.
“I think that when my contract ends at the end of next year I will retire,” the former West Ham, Manchester United and Manchester City striker told Canal 13.
‘Other times, I missed the club when I left, but this time it won’t be the same. I won’t go to another team and I’ll retire with this jersey.
“I don’t want to retire and then become a coach or director. I must prepare for such a role first.”
